Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 97 Donates $2,000 to THS Foundation

Wintersville, Ohio—February 6, 2024–This morning, in a ceremony at the Wintersville Police Department, the Upper Ohio Valley Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 97 presented the Trinity Health System Foundation with a $2,000 donation to the Beyond Pink Fund.

“The Beyond Pink Fund provides items of comfort to patients receiving treatment at the Trinity Tony Teramana Cancer Center,” Catherine Poludniak, Trinity Health System Foundation Director, said.

Examples of these items are wigs, makeup, and head scarves.

“Along with these items, we are also able to provide experts in these areas to teach the patients how to style and care for the new wigs and apply makeup to feel more comfortable, all while uplifting the spirits of our patients,” Poludniak said.

“The members of our lodge all have family members that have been affected by cancer in one way or another,” Cross Creek Township Police Chief Casey Robinson, said. “This is a cause that hits close to home; for that reason we are all passionate about making a difference.”

The FOP Lodge 97 has 80 members from across the Ohio Valley and is made up of several agencies. Its members sold T-shirts as a fundraiser in October 2023; along with personal contributions, they collected $2,000.

Robinson said this fundraiser will be an ongoing effort.

“We still have shirts available for purchase and annually will promote shirt sales in the month of October. We are honored to support the Beyond Pink Fund at the Trinity Health System Foundation because of the significant local impact we are able to make and the ability we have to help patients in our community.”
