Trinity Health System is thrilled to celebrate a truly remarkable milestone this month: Vivian Ziklo’s 58th anniversary with our ministry! This makes Vivian the longest-serving employee in the history of our ministry! For nearly six decades, Vivian has been a constant, comforting presence in our Emergency Department registration, and we are so grateful for her unwavering dedication.
Vivian’s commitment stems from a deep love for people.
“I love people,” she says, “both who I work with and those who come to the registration window. Our community is full of great people.”
Throughout her tenure, Vivian has witnessed significant changes at Trinity Health System. She fondly recalls a time when things were quite different, sharing a story about Sister Agatha, who would recycle old letters for patient records. “She would simply put a big red X through the letter and tell the staff to use the back side for the patient’s information!” Vivian credits the introduction of computers as the most significant positive change, noting how they have made the work quicker and more accurate, “as long as the correct information is put in!”
While technology has streamlined processes, Vivian acknowledges one change she misses: the opportunity for more personal connection with patients.
“We are so ‘big’ and ‘busy’ now,” she reflects, recalling a time when staff could walk patients and their families through admission, taking the time to talk and connect.
Vivian’s advice to new employees is simple yet profound: “Ask questions and keep an open mind.” A true pioneer, Vivian even trained the first male registration clerk at Trinity Health System!
And the best news? Vivian hopes to continue working for another two years, reaching an incredible 60 years of service!
Loved and known by all, Vivian is a true treasure to Trinity Health System. Please join us in congratulating Vivian Ziklo on this extraordinary achievement!
Thank you, Vivian, for your unwavering commitment and the countless lives you’ve touched.
