About Spiritual Care

Chaplains at Trinity Health System are members of the care team. In addition to having graduate degrees in their fields of study, they have also received advanced clinical training in providing Spiritual Care in hospital settings. Chaplains serve as a resource for patients, families and loved ones, and Trinity Health staff and employees. They do not impose their beliefs or seek to evangelize. Chaplains are trained to work with both the religious and non-religious in helping them use their beliefs as a resource in their time of need.

Some reasons for contacting a chaplain:

  • If you are feeling anxious or fearful about a surgery, therapy or medical procedure.
  • If you are finding it hard to be hopeful.
  • If your way of life must change following an illness.
  • If your suffering becomes overwhelming.
  • If you are facing a difficult medical decision.
