Recurrent Tonsillitis, Recurrent Sinus Infections and Surgery

Is Surgery a Solution to a Prolonged Infection?

Have you been suffering from recurrent sore throats, recurrent sinus infections or ear infections. Often antibiotics are prescribed, but the problem persists despite being adequately treated by their primary care physician.

Recurrent Tonsillitis and Recurrent Sinus Infections

Multiple recurrent episodes of tonsillitis or prolonged episodes of tonsillitis may be an indication for the surgical removal of the tonsils. Similarly, removal of the adenoid tissue in children may be required if your child has recurrent sinus infections, difficulty breathing or stops breathing at night.

Similarly in adults and children, recurrent sinus infections requiring antibiotics throughout the year or chronic sinus infections that last for months may be another indication for surgery. In adults and under the right circumstances, these sinuses can also be addressed with a balloon device in the office not requiring any general anesthesia or time off of work.
