Wheeling Intelligencer: The Doctor Is In at Trinity’s New St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital by Gage Vota

Director of Operations Jamie Betts said that since the ribbon cutting, the neighborhood hospital has been working through its final processes and making sure that everything works appropriately, as well as completing the final stages of the hospital’s construction.

“Last week, we were able to bring all of the staff in and go through live training here at the facility,” Betts said. “We were able to work with mock patients and put those mock patients through our processes and systems, to make sure all of the systems are intact and working appropriately.”

He added that the hospital is now open 24/7 and will be available for emergency and inpatient care.

“We’ve already seen several patients, and have actually already admitted patients,” Betts said.

WTOV: St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital opens with 24/7 services and helipad by Jaime Baker

The hospital will operate around the clock, featuring six in-patient rooms, two operating rooms, and advanced imaging services. It also boasts an always-open emergency room and a helipad for patient transport to higher care facilities when necessary.

“We went through scenarios last week where [we] acted like the hospital was open last week from nursing staff, from labs and radiology with the doctors working together with mock patients,” Emergency Medical Director Christopher Gooch said. “Making sure our ordering system was right, things were getting right with pharmacy so we’d be prepared to take care of patients.”

WTRF: New Ohio hospital open to the public by John Lynch

“For many in the St. Clairsville area, access to timely emergency services has been a challenge, often requiring travel across the Ohio River,” Dwayne Richardson, president of Twin City Medical Center and Regional Operations, said. “By establishing this facility along National Road, we are working to bridge that gap—bringing high-quality, life-saving care close to home.”

“The need for this hospital location has become even more urgent following the closure of East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry,” Laurie Labishak, Market Director, Trinity Health System, said. “While nearby hospitals in Wheeling and Barnesville continue to provide vital support, the addition of this new facility will expand capacity and provide local residents with another trusted place to turn in times of need.”

To enhance care delivery, the hospital will also feature a helicopter landing zone for emergency air transport and utilize telehealth robotics throughout the facility—ensuring that expertise, connection, and compassionate care are always within reach.
