We had a wonderful evening at Pink Power Night last Wednesday! Thank you to all of our vendors and attendees!
This year we partnered with the Women in Action Against Cancer Coalition and held their annual wreath ceremony during our event. We also welcomed our international guest speaker DeLores Pressley.

Herald-Star: Women support Pink Power Night by Julie Stenger
Women throughout the community gathered at the St. Florian Event Center Wednesday evening to celebrate women and breast cancer survivors during Trinity Health System’s Pink Power Night.
The Pink Power Night: Empowering Health, Illuminating Hope event offered a few special hours where residents could show support, educate and appreciate a space to connect with others.
“At Trinity Health System, we believe in the power of community and compassionate care. Pink Power Night is the perfect embodiment of our vision for a healthier future for all — one powered by our humanity,” said Laurie Labishak, market director for marketing and communications at Trinity.
Among the many stations inside the hall was an area led by patient navigator and mammographer Kayla Beaver, who has been with Trinity for five years. She explained the importance of screenings and receiving a breast sonogram, noting those older than 40 should receive an annual checkup, along with performing monthly self-breast exams.

WTRF: Pink power night unites women and survivors in Ohio for breast cancer awareness by Josh DeLong
“I am here to get women to take action. I don’t want them to just listen. So, a lot of times you listen to motivational speakers and inspirational speakers and they ‘rah, rah you.’ But I’m going to give you steps on how you can go home and do something different. Don’t just come here and see all these amazing people. Take action.”

“We partnered with the Women in Action Breast Cancer Coalition for their wreath ceremony, which they also hold every year, and usually it’s on separate days, but this year we decided why not join forces and bring every everyone together in one place.”

Guests were able to enjoy delicious food and visit more than 30 vendors. Additionally, Trinity Health System partnered with the Women’s Coalition for Breast Cancer to do a wreath ceremony.
Attendees also listened to an inspiring message from internationally recognized speaker Delores Pressley. She spoke about the importance of empowering women and hopes to motivate people to take action and follow their dreams.
“Women, we need to be reminded sometimes we just don’t walk in our power the way that we should,” Pressley said. “You need reminders like what I have tonight to tell you that you can make it happen.”
The night was also focused on educating the community. The American Cancer Society now recommends that women 40 and above have a mammogram every year. Local health experts shared information about the tests and why it’s important to get them.
