We begin this week keeping our focus on the Core Value of Reverence. More than the angels, human beings possess an intrinsic dignity that is a pure gift from our loving Creator through no merits of our own. We are a dignified people because we were created in the image and likeness of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, and our eternal destiny is not in this life but in the life to come. Because of that dignity, we must revere every patient and every coworker we encounter in our daily journey.

Lord, teach me to appreciate the gift of dignity you have given to me and to my brothers and sisters. Help me to acknowledge every child, woman, and man I encounter here and at home. Let nothing passes my lips except those that build up your kingdom here on earth. Amen.
