Sister Nancy Ferguson, OSF recently celebrated her 50th Jubilee with the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio.
Sister Nancy Ferguson entered the Sylvania Franciscans from St. James Parish in Toledo, Ohio after graduating from McAuley High School in 1964.¬† She attributes her religious vocation to the Notre Dame Sisters in Toledo and Mercy Sisters in Cincinnati.¬† Over the past 50 years, she has served in a variety of ministries which include teaching elementary school, vocation and parish ministry and being a houseparent in a children’s home in New Mexico.¬† She is currently the Director of Mission Integration at Trinity Health System in Steubenville, Ohio and at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, Ohio.¬† Her favorite Scripture passage is from Jeremiah 29:11, “I know the plans I have in mind for you, plans for your welfare, plans for a future full of hope,” and this has been a source of inspiration for her during her 50 years in religious life.
Sister Nancy also continues the rich legacy of the religious women who made their way from Luxembourg on a 6-week ocean voyage to begin a life of giving, caring and commitment to God in the United States in 1852.  The Sisters first came to Steubenville in 1931 to operate the Gill Hospital and have been here ever since.
Sister Nancy has been with Trinity since 2011.
