Dr. Aguirre is a highly trained and board-certified physician with specialized expertise in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Pain Medicine. His unique multidisciplinary background provides a comprehensive approach to patient care. Focusing not only on alleviating pain but also on identifying and treating its root causes. With experience spanning military service in the U.S. Army Reserves and roles as a team physician at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels, Dr. Aguirre brings a wealth of real-world clinical insight to his practice. Most recently, he served as the Head Team Physician for Grambling State University, where he oversaw the health and performance of student-athletes at the Division I level. Grounded in evidence-based medicine, Dr. Aguirre emphasizes functional recovery and disease prevention, working collaboratively with patients to restore mobility, reduce pain, and optimize performance. Fluent in Spanish, he is deeply committed to delivering accessible, patient-centered care to a diverse community. With extensive experience in Sports Medicine, I bring a comprehensive and proven approach to concussion diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. After completing a Sports Medicine fellowship, I served as the Associate Program Director for a Sports Medicine Fellowship, where I trained future physicians in concussion management at LSU Shreveport. My hands-on experience includes serving as a team physician at all levels of athletic competition—ranging from USA Boxing, USA Volleyball, and USA Judo to collegiate teams such as the Buffalo Bulls, Canisius College, LSU Shreveport, Centenary College, and most recently, as Head Team Physician for Grambling State University. I’ve also supported professional athletes as part of the Buffalo Sabres medical team. My background uniquely equips me to provide expert care tailored to the demands of athletes, with a focus on safe return-to-play protocols, individualized treatment plans, and long-term brain health.
