On Friday, December 6, in the Main Lobby of Trinity Medical Center West, we held our annual Blessing of the Nativity. Father Drake A. McCalister of the Diocese of Steubenville (pictured above) offered the homily and prayer.
Dave Willey, Interim Mission Director, spoke about the significance of each date on the Advent calendar.
And professional vocalist Laurie Labishak, Market Director, Marketing and Communications, performed “Mary, Did You Know?”
“As a Catholic hospital, Blessing of the Nativity is a way to welcome Christ into the season at the time of His birth,” Laurie said. “It reminds us that we are His hands and feet in this ministry. This is the beginning of what we do, and because of that, the ceremony was very touching. Honestly, I had tears in my eyes as I was reminded of the incredible sacrifice the birth of Christ signifies.”
Trinity Health System wishes everyone a blessed Advent season. May humankindness carry us into the New Year.
