WTOV: Revolutionizing stroke care in Ohio Valley: Trinity Medical Center, The Ohio State University launch telestroke technology

Our thanks to WTOV9 for covering our breaking news yesterday that Trinity Health System has joined The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Telestroke Network.

Here’s an excerpt from the report by Bill Steinbach:

A new collaboration is bringing modern and advanced medical technology to the Ohio Valley.

The Ohio State University and Trinity Medical Center are investing in new telestroke technology that will bring great benefits to stroke patients.

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has the largest telestroke program in the state. It’s a tool officials say can provide life-changing care.

“Telestroke is an invaluable tool for serving more rural areas in the state. It provides access to critical stroke care that these populations will generally not have access to,” said Dixie Davenport, telestroke program manager, OSU.
