Our thanks to WTRF for spotlighting our TAVR program on last Friday’s newscast. Here’s an excerpt from their report, along with the link to the full story:
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (WTRF) — Trinity Health System has been designated as a Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, or TAVR, Center of Excellence.
This prestigious recognition is awarded by Common Spirit Health, and it distinguishes Trinity as one of only 3 hospitals within the Common Spirit system to achieve this award.
To qualify for the award, hospitals must perform 200 total TAVR procedures, with 50 in the last year.
Also, patient outcomes must be above the 50th percentile nationally.
“It shows that we are committed to providing top quality care to our patients, that the outcomes from our TAVR procedures are better than the national average, and that when patients come here, they can be assured that they are getting the absolute best care when it comes to Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement therapy. The Center of Excellence designation is a team designation, and I’m happy that our team collectively was awarded such a distinction.”
Dr. Triston Smith – Medical Director, Trinity Cardiovascular Service
